Kerala HC Threatens Toll Halt on Edapally-Paliekkara Highway Over Traffic Woes

Frustrated commuters on the Edapally-Paliekkara stretch of the National Highway may soon see some relief. The Kerala High Court has issued a stern warning to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), threatening to halt toll collection if the persistent traffic snarls and potholes aren’t addressed.

Court Upholds Commuter Rights

The court firmly stated that motorists paying tolls have the right to a smooth and safe commute. They shouldn’t be subjected to the constant frustration of traffic jams and the dangers posed by potholes on a highway they’re paying to use.

NHAI Faces Pressure to Improve Highway Conditions

This strong stance by the High Court puts significant pressure on the NHAI to take immediate action to improve the road conditions on the Edapally-Paliekkara stretch. The potential loss of toll revenue will hopefully incentivize the authority to prioritize the safety and convenience of commuters.
