Maharashtra Public Security Bill Passed: CM Assures No Misuse

The Maharashtra Assembly has approved a new public security bill, a draft legislation tabled by the Chief Minister himself. The bill passed by a majority voice vote following a two-hour deliberation.

Opposition Parties Raise Concerns

While the bill secured majority support, it wasn’t without its detractors. The CPI outright opposed the bill, while other opposition parties also voiced their objections and concerns regarding its potential implications.

Next Step: Legislative Council

With the Assembly’s approval, the bill will now proceed to the Legislative Council for further review and consideration.

The Chief Minister addressed concerns regarding potential misuse, assuring the public that the law would be implemented responsibly and ethically.
